Jantar Earth: Cited SAR Displacement

One narrow product: line-of-sight ground displacement read from NASA’s published NISAR interferograms, every value cited to the granule it came from. It is built. It is not yet served to customers: publication waits on a legal question that counsel has not answered.

WHAT IS BUILT

Provenance, Not a Physics Race

A radar satellite images terrain; the interference fringes pass through a quality grid; on the ground tile some cells carry a pinned value and the rest are left as empty outlines
SourcePublished InterferogramsNASA’s NISAR products, read as published. Jantar processes no radar scenes itself. An air-gapped deployment reads the same files from a local directory.
GateQuality CheckEach value is judged on the product’s own quality layers.
ResultCited, or WithheldA value names its granule and acquisition dates. One that fails is withheld with its reason, never interpolated or smoothed across.
Where the evidence runs short the product says INSUFFICIENT, and it says in words that an absence of data is not an absence of motion.

What It Does and Does Not Do

TopicPosition
PublicationGated. Whether an InSAR deformation product crosses the vertical-accuracy threshold in India’s DST Geospatial Guidelines is an open question for counsel. Until it is answered, the service refuses to publish displacement to a customer, and the refusal says why.
Failure predictionNone. No countdown, no failure time, no velocity-derived forecast and no warning. The earlier countdown code was removed, not switched off.
TargetsIntended for sites where InSAR is known to work: urban subsidence, dam rims, mine pits, embankments, tailings. Not forested monsoon valleys. Choosing a suitable site is part of scoping an engagement; the software does not decide it.
CorrectionsJantar applies no atmospheric or ionospheric correction of its own, and every product states that in a field rather than a footnote.
Other analyticsNo crop, soil-moisture, port or storage-volume products.
Catalogue searchA read-only Bhoonidhi catalogue connector exists. A wider search of what radar exists over an asset is not built.
Deployment modeFetching granules from NASA is network egress, so it is refused in an air-gapped deployment; there, granules are carried in and read from a local directory.
AttributionEach product names its data source and carries the provider’s terms with every value derived from it.

Status

Built; publication waits on counsel. Everything tested so far runs on a synthetic fixture, and no accuracy figure exists or is published for real data. Talk to us if you have an asset where cited displacement would help.
